Alaska Expedition Photos, 5/31/09 - 6/7/09
Day 8 - Juneau and Return Home |
Sunday, June 7, the last day of the expedition, started with an early breakfast aboard the NG Sea Lion. The ship docked at Juneau where buses were boarded for a trip to the Alaska State Museum. The museum hihglights the native peoples of the region and the mining history of Juneau. After visiting the museum, we were taken to Mendenhall Glacier. The visitor center hosts a half-million people each year. The rest of the morning was spent hiking along the trails near the glacier, followed by a short bus ride to the airport and our return to Seattle. |
