Alaskan Expedition Photos, 5/31/09 - 6/7/09

This collection of photos represents a small sampling of the hundreds of shots taken during an eight-day expedition aboard the National Geographic Sea Lion that included numerous landings for hiking, kayaking and Zodiac adventures plus wildlife viewing each day. The journey began with a flight from Chicago to Seattle, followed the next morning (Sunday) with a group flight to Sitka. Eight days later the expedition concluded with a group flight from Juneau to Seattle, then a return flight to Chicago the next day.

The NG Sea Lion is a 152-foot long ship that accommodates 62 guests. The ship is operated by Lindblad Expeditions under a cooperative agreement with the National Geographic Society.
